4/16/13: The studio has been picking up a great deal lately! I've had severa o clients come in, as well as some newer ones, such as Kid Lethal, NYQE Unorthodox, and the Rawleighs! We've hadded some more acoustic treatment to the ceiling to help cancel out some of those reflections.
Check out Kid Lethal live from the studio below =]
Apart from that, we've just been working on our two new network television shows, Street Candy and Cab International Inc.. When we have more information, we'll pass it along so you can find out how to check the shows out! Unfortunately, they won't be playing in the Pacific NorthWest, however, you'll be able to view them anytime via web-stream.
We'll keep you updated!

2/14/13: After a great deal of anticipation, we finally got the new window installed, and it works beautifully! In addition, if you haven't seen it yet, we have zalso added a 1981 Lowrey Organ to our collection of house instruments!! We were very fortunate to have it donated it to us, and aside from a few of its minor functions not working, its in GREAT condition!
Also, if you didn't see, our "bulk" rates went from $16/hr to $18/hr; despite that, we are still the best bang for your buck for pro recording in the Portland area!
Although things certainly slowed down a great deal over the holidays, the studio has been jam-packed (no pun intended) with lots of new artists! We also added Antares Auto-tune to our arsenal of plugins, and although I know how a lot of you die-hards feel about auto-tune, I insure you that our vocals have never sounded better! Come in and lets re-master your old mixes, or get some hot new tracks running that radio DJ's would be proud to spin for you!
That's about it for the time being! In the next coming weeks, you may see a small array of new amps coming in! Can we say "Deluxe Reverb"? Orange? Vox? VHT??? We'll keep you updated =D
11/12/12: We've begun construction on the new 6 foot window that will sit between the tracking and control rooms. We've also moved the old control room in the back of the building to the room adjacent to the tracking room, so now artist and engineer will be right next to each other, and will have visual communication!
Also, get excited because we've installed three fully adjustable webcams on the ceiling in the tracking room, so soon enough, bands will be able to perform live shows over the net and have their fans tap into the video feed and watch/listen to them jam! Very exciting stuff! We've also added a new PDP Double-Kick Drum Pedal to our gear vault!
We're constantly making new upgrades and adding on to the studio. Business has been BOOMING and we're proud to have had all the incredibly talented new clients that have been in as of late. Thank you all for your continued business and we look forward to your next session!
Last but not least, we've had a LOT of cancellations lately, many without 24 hours prior notice. We understand that things will often come up due to health reason or whatever, but its important for us that you give us at least 24 hours prior notice, otherwise we won't have the opportunity to re-book your spot and thus, lose out on money (and disappoint our clients). WIth that, PLEASE, if you must cancel, give us at least 24 hours prior notice if possible. Otherwise, you are responsible for a fee of 50% of the amount of time you had booked. WE DO NOT WANT TO START REQUIRING THAT PEOPLE PUT DOWN DEPOSITS EVERY TIME THEY WANT TO RECORD SO PLEASE HELP US OUT ON THIS ONE!
Thank you!
Cory
9/21/12: We now have the option to support LIVE tracking! We can get multiple members recording at once, each with their own customizable headphone mix! Also, we're putting in a new window between the tracking room and the all-new control room, so now our engineer/artists will be able to communicate visually!
P.S. See our all new FAQ section on the location/contact page! It has all the info you'll need for your first session, how to prepare and get the most bang for your buck!
Also, if you've recorded with us, please take our survey on the location/contact page! Your feedback helps us to provide you with the best service possible!
10/13/11: One of our songs was featured in a video for Pacific Health and Rehab in Tigard, OR! See below:
Testimonials
"I've been to Sound Lab a few times and every time has been a great experience. Cory has quality services for a unbeatable price. I used to record at a huge expensive studio for almost triple the price but I get the same quality and result at Sound Lab. I am a vocalist and Corey is an encouraging engineer who takes and gives direction very well. He understands what the client wants and is very knowledgeable. The location is easy to find and you won't find a better price anywhere else. I definitely recommend!"

"My husband has been to the studio a couple times, and he has enjoyed each session. Cory is young, willing to listen to ideas, brings his own ideas into it as well. We would reccomend this studio to anyone who asked! He is so good, we actually just gave him a mini promo on The Mix Monster Show last week live on the air! If you want someone who is young, hip, smart, then this is the place to go!"
-Jenni D.
"I loved working with Cory, he's a great ideas guy and Soundlab Recording studio is a cool relaxed place to get things done. He is also the sexiest recording engineer in Portland, hands down."

"My white producer is better than your black producer!"
-Lady Mob
"I was really happy with how my song turned out. Cory was very cool about pausing the clock when I smoked and he spent time with me on every part of my song to get it to sound how I wanted it. SoundLab is a great studio and Cory is a down to earth, well-rounded person."
-Kendall Romawni
"Cory knows pro tools and logic, as well as mastering... What was important to me was the final product and he delivered."
